Southern Alberta Wedding, Family and Baby Photographer

If you are reading this, then you are looking for more about me. Well, where do I start? With my family of course! I am married to my wonderful hubby Regan. We've got four kids. Alden (9), Lucy (6), Eli (3) and Oliver (6 months). We live in the small town of Raymond, Alberta.
I love chocolate, I love cooking and baking and crafting. Ooooh and Reading, I looove reading. And I obviously love taking pictures. I love weddings the very most. I love capturing a couple in love. But I love taking pictures of families and babies and nature and food.
I took photography way back when I was in college as part of my program (Advertising and Public Relations) but got into photography more of people after my oldest was born. Really I am a momographer, who has learned and grown. I started out with a little basic knowledge and through a lot of reading, online classes, mentoring and lots and lots of practice I've improved. And I still have lots of room to improve.
I've learned that part of me can be seen in the shots that are truly my work. Not the snap shots of everyday, although those have their merit too. But the shots I love, to quote one of my photography teachers, "the ones I want to hug close to my heart". Those images share part of me.
And that's why I'd want you to get me to take your pictures. Not because of my prices or because I live close to you. But because you see something in my pictures that speaks to your heart. And that is my heart.

My friend Brooke links up articles that relate to photography each week and I really love it. I’ve thought about doing it for a while and well today I’m not just thinking about it, but doing it!

1. Love loved this lesson here about printing photos. SO true. In fact we got pictures taken when Eli was small and the DVD got lost and then just recently found and guess what? It’s all scratched and it wouldn’t load in my computer. Totally makes me sad. I have some printed but I’d still love access to them!! Print your pictures!!’

2. Some great tips here about shooting selfies. Something totally scary and thrilling to me.

3. Speaking of Brooke, she did a GREAT post about a topic I’ve thought a LOT about. I know I’ve taken some time off for my baby but I’ve thought about not shooting anything paid for a year. Taking a break from it all and just falling in love with photography. Saving the best for my family.

Superman

Another one of my photo projects I am doing with my own family is called Our Year in Photos and I am doing it on my family blog. But I loved these ones so much I wanted to share them here too. The assignment was to capture our children’s favorite character or tv show. And my three year old picked Superman. Totally 100% inspired from a friend photographer who took some of her hilarious son a couple years ago.
