I’m participating all week long in a photo project headed by the lovely Ali Edwards called Week in the Life where we document our daily lives and at the end we will create a small album that documents our week.
I’m loving these daily snuggling morning pictures we are taking. Today’s was taken by dad. I’m loving the consistency of them and the similarities and the differences. And of COURSE I’m loving the morning snuggles!
Bed head and all. Here it is in it’s glory 🙂 Norah likes to be carried like this in the morning. None of this on the hip carrying. She wants to be front and center will full snuggles. If I try and switch her she says “no not like that” and tries to climb to this position. (which as you could image works well if I am carrying anything else)
This summer I have let my kids do learning computer games in the morning. It is a reading program that Oliver and Eli are both in. Lucy usually helps Oliver if he needs it. It’s really cool to see my 3 year old learning to read. We’ll see how he progresses. I have no expectations other than him learning to enjoy it.
Pulling out last nights curlers. We were going to have family pictures this day, but the weather wasn’t very sunny and that’s kind of what I wanted. And the photographer was feeling a little under the weather. So we decided to postpone to a different day. So instead Lucy just had super cute hair for fun. 🙂
I told Eli to go have a bath. He asked if he could wear his swimming suit which I said no to. This was his almost obedience. He wore only his swimming shirt in the tub. Classic Eli.
This entire summer this basement place has been a disaster. Like every toy out disaster. I am looking forward to school time for having more clean places around.
I went shopping for clothes for our family pictures today and I left the camera at home and asked Dad to capture some of it (Thursdays are his day off). The ukelele is usually sitting on top of our fireplace. Dad likes to pick to up all the time and play it. It kind of drives me crazy that it doesn’t really have a place to actually be put but I do love listening to him playing it often.
A few weeks ago after talking with Alden about music, Dad decided he needed to do a little music education. He’s introducing him to music from all different genres and times and trying to teach him to love music the way that he does. It’s neat to see Alden’s tastes developing and I like to add in a few here and there that I think he should listen too.
I decided I wanted to make floral crowns for our pictures when we do them. So after I got home I made some at the kitchen table while I ate my lunch.
Grandma stopped by and Norah and her played a giggly game of Peek a boo. It was completely cute. Some days my kids take a bit to warm up to grandma and some days they run to her with open arms. Today they were slow.
Lucy got home from her birthday party at Jaycie’s house and she tried on the floral crown on. It fits and I love it!
My kids love this thing. And Norah calls it the Looker.
Me in the kitchen. Another every day thing.
Norah doesn’t really get to use the iPad. It’s a quiet time thing we do when she is sleeping. Some days I will let her and some days I won’t. Today I did.
You know it’s garden season when my fridge looks like this. It’s got a whole lot of green. (The toy bucket I used for picking beans.) I’ve got to do something with all this stuff and freeze some of it.
There are lots of people playing along with this and you can see more if you go over to Ali’s blog. After I capture my week I’ll be putting my album together and sharing it.
