I’m still plugging along on this week long project called “Week in the life” spearheaded by the amazing Ali Edwards. This week I’m capturing and recording about our lives. I’ve almost made it! This was Saturday. I did a Wedding shoot today. So there is a whole bunch of time where that was all I was doing and I had my camera with me so they couldn’t use it at home!
8:02am: Yet again this week it was an early wake up. You know those mornings when you keep trying to go back to sleep and the little kids keep coming into your room? That sums up this morning. First wake up (besides the middle of the night ones was at 5:50am. When we finally accepted defeat and got out of bed we found Lucy was up and already ready to go sing with our ward choir at the Stake Discovery Day. I had to hurry and get ready for the day too.
9:18am: I was asked to teach about Memory Keeping our living relatives on the Go for our Stake Discovery Day. My MIL asked me. And I was happy to do it. It’s something I’m passionate about. I am a bit obsessive about it but I hoped that I got across the point that I wasn’t thinking they had to start all these projects but instead to pick ONE Thing and ONE way to document their family now. Something quick and easy and doable in their lives.
I spent the middle portion of the day shooting a wedding in Cardston and then Raymond. It was lots of fun. While I was gone Regan took Alden to a Spring League Basketball tournament in Stirling and Lucy babysat the other kids at home and they set up for their picnic they had planned.
3:22pm: Sweeping the trampoline.
5:23pm: All the little girls who came over painted each other’s nails.
5:24pm: The leftovers from the friend picnic. Especially telling when the kids all promised to clean up after in fact begging to have one because “we PROMISE” to clean it up. Still working on that.
5:38am: “Mom! I can’t do anything except I get a drink FIRST!” *Drinks it all quickly * “Aaaaahhhhhhhhhhh”
5:45pm: Enjoying my little gift from my lovely friend after her engagement session we did yesterday evening.
5:53pm: Everybody loves going to Grandma and Grandpas!!
7:03pm: Lucy and Eli building towers together and knocking them over and over.
7:24pm: It’s time to leave so of course Norah has to try and eat something. As per usual.
7:25pm: Snuggles with grandma to say goodbye.
7:28pm: “Seeeee ya Grandma!” “Wait Ollie, you need to give grandma a hug bye!”
7:29pm: Saying goodbye to Grandma always means big hugs. We’re so lucky we live so close.
7:32pm: Leaving Grandma’s to go home. Grandma and Grandpa always come to the step and way goodbye to all the kids.
7:43pm: Bathing all the four youngest kids the night before church makes Sundays work a LOT better for me.
8:24pm: We went up to a concert of a local band called Saints and Sinners. It was in town hall. And it was a night of 80s music. Lots of fun for an easy date night right in town.
