I was so so happy to be able to document the lovely wedding day of these two. The groom’s parents are dear friends to my husband and me. We spent a lot of time in their home when we both lived in Nova Scotia. We love the Pilling family a lot. That makes it extra special to see their kids grown and choose someone to marry. It makes the whole day even more special.
All about the couple from the bride: Blake and I met at a singles ward activity in Alberta while we were both home from school for the summer. We started dating and at the end of the summer decided that we wanted to keep it up when we both went back to school at BYU. We love playing tennis, hiking, and being outdoors together. We also really love to cook together as well.
At the end of the April, I came home and Blake stayed for the spring semester. One weekend he came home to visit and we went for a picnic. At the park there was a little hippie van, Blake walked over to it and opened the door – I was freaking out because it’s not ours – and inside there was the real picnic and flowers. We went inside and he asked me to marry him and then ate a picnic in the cute little van. I’ve always wanted a van like that and one day I asked him if he would want to buy one with me – he said if we got married we could buy a van – I just said ok! haha. He borrowed the van from a friend, so that he could use it for the proposal. Now that we’re married, we’ll have to buy one ourselves!
Aren’t they the cutest together ?! We had a lot of fun (and a LOT of laughing) together while taking pictures. Also pretty cute were the great posters done in Gold calligraphy by the Bride’s sister! They looked awesome with the amazing floral sprays over top.
I’m so happy for these two.
