I live in a small town. And every year on July first the town more than doubles for the Heritage Days Celebration (Canada Day ). You get to see tons of people that you haven’t seen in forever (probably since last year). There are town activities and an amazing parade. You should see the candy haul from the parade! I thought I would share what Canada Day looks like for our family.
First off the Saturday before July first is always the Harlan Taylor Run. It has a 2km, 5km and 10km run. There is also a Chamber of Commerce Pancake Breakfast, Softball Tournament and this year there was a Zumbathon.
All the Steed family who ran mission one kid I couldn’t find!
Then on July first there is a great parade. There is always lots of red and white and lots of and lots of candy.
There are always a few families doing reunions with floats.
After the Parade it’s time for a BBQ, playing with water in the backyard and enjoying a cool treat!
The 112th Annual Raymond Stampede was Canada’s first outdoor Stampede. It has tons of great things to see.
Then in the evening there is the Chamber of Commerce Street Fair.
This year at the street fair you could pay a coupe bucks and try to dunk the peace officers, some police men and the fire department.
After dark there are Fireworks. We get great seats since the are done in the rodeo grounds which is right behind my in-laws yard!
Raymond is a great place to celebrate this fabulous country we live in!!
