It’s almost the end of October and I haven’t posted my pictures from the 15th. So here they are today.
Lots of Alden because it was his 13th birthday. Happy day for him.
It was good day.

Well July is almost over and I haven’t posted my 15th on the 15th, so I’m sneaking them in here.
And that was our 15th.

So I got a little confused about what I was doing today. I thought I was taking pictures today for my Living Life and then would post it another day. And I was going to do it for my monthly 15 on the 15th. And so I combined them together. But then I found that I was supposed to post them today and have taken them a different day. HA! whoops. So anyways, here are is our day.
So that was my day. It looks less busy that it felt 😉
Now… go on to see these other lovely ladies that I am doing this monthly habit with: Andrea, Erin, Naomi, Kinsey & Brooke
And you can go see all my other months for 15 on the 15th over here.

Sunday was the 15th… so here is
The whole day I was thinking about how crazy Sundays can be at our house sometimes. Regan was on call this weekend so he is visibility absent because we frankly didn’t see him most of it! It was a busy weekend for him!
Lucy’s hair is getting really long. And sometimes I really struggle doing it. She has great hair, it’s just not something I’m really skilled in. We went for a sock bun today.
Eli had quite the Sunday morning. He threw up a couple times. Now I never know if he is actually sick or not because he can make himself puke on demand. So frankly I just DONT know. It was one of those mornings with him. I was making him stay on his bed because “I’m actually sick mom for REAL” (and then when I would leave the room he was singing that he didnt have to go to church) and I hear him calling me in a panic from his bedroom. I go into his room and his leg is stuck in between the bars. Like not going anywhere. (yes, I took a picture first.) And then I pulled and pulled and tried to pull on the bars and push his leg while he bawled. And then I was stumped. So I tried calling my brother (he was at meetings), Regan was at the hospital, so then I was watching out the front window trying to decide what to do and I see my neighbor leaving his house so I walked out to the driveway and asked for help. Luckily JD could pull the bars apart enough and his son could pull on Eli’s leg enough to get it out. He had marks on his leg and was bawling but his leg was out. Typical day around here with this kid.
Norah is a doll. And i love it when she’s hamming it up.
Lucy brought me this note first thing this morning. She’s such a sweet girl.
These two have REALLY been into crafting together lately. And apparently Eli was “magically healed” at grandma’s while we were at church.
Leftovers for supper.
Oliver has decided he is the microwave man. Which is equally sweet and terrifying.
Bedtime snack was cinnamon toast and smoothies.
Pre-bed sword fights.
I had a prompting at church this past sunday to do more with these two older kids after the littles are in bed. So Sunday night we planned Settlers of Catan. And MAN did they love it!!!!! I think we will be doing it more often! They were so excited the whole time and happy. It was lovely. Good mom moment.
That was our crazy and average Sunday.

It was the 15th on Sunday and I promptly forgot! So instead I did it on Monday which made for a more exciting day since it was Family Day and we went to Lethbridge and went swimming and to the park (which I shared some of yesterday).
Breakfast time. I think it was actually both of their second breakfast. These two are my earliest risers so often they eat again when everyone else is up.
He loves to help make anything in the kitchen. This morning it was waffles.
Lucy broke her toe and it has her limping a bit. And man her toenails drive me crazy. The length and the leftover polish.
Alden building circuits in his bedroom.
This room these two share is ALWAYS a disaster. I clean it up, they clean it up, we both clean it up and in 10 minutes (or less) it’s a disaster again. It’s kind of annoying but SO our life right now.
For Valentine’s Day Regan got me this book. When I told him I LOVED it. He said I know. We’ve been married long enough I know what kind of stuff you love. 🙂
The funniest parts to this picture to me? Lucy falling on the couch in the background and Alden’s drawn on mustache.
Driving in to Lethbridge to go swimming. Notice Eli is hiding from the camera. He was mad at something (or someone) and kept yelling I DONT LIKE PICTURES. I kept snapping aways anyways.
After swimming and the park we took the kids out to Fat Burger. In our post swimming wet hair, sloppy attire. And I’m fine with that. The lighting was terrible in their so my ISO was really really high but these pictures are so the kids. I had to take about 10 to get them to be normal. In the beginning there was lots of funny faces and pushing each other, etc and then they finally accepted that I was just going to keep shooting so they moved on and just went back to normalcy. And that’s when I was really capturing them.
And that was our Family Day.

First of all, I’m having a little give away on my blog on this post so if you wanna win a cute little Valetnine’s Day lap quilt, keep scrolling after this post!
I wasn’t sure at the end of last year if I was going to do this again, and then the 15th came and it just didn’t feel right to NOT do it. So I’m on again! Here is our day on the 15th. Sometimes I feel like I should add some commentary, we’ll see if I do it every month.
Regan playing “hurry to the bus” on his Ukulele while trying to encourage the kids to hurry up and out the door…. (it’s something he was just making up at the moment…)
Fabulous sunrise that morning!!!
Norah hasn’t been a fan of anything in her hair until recently. She even was in for a headband and she was enjoying seeing herself.
After I use the treadmill Oliver will often ask to use it too. Then Norah might want to try too.
I stopped by the school and surprised Lucy for a little lunch date. She picked Burger Baron (not a lot of choices in town) and we just ate and chatted.
A little watercolor time in the afternoon with Oliver and me. He had a lot of questions about what I was painting and why I was choosing those colors.
Oliver and Norah play this game of peek a boo in the pantry constantly. Sometimes Oliver closes the door and leaves her there in the dark and she just waits most of the time. Sometimes she will cry.
Lucy is always giving the two littles shoulder rides lately. SUCH A little momma.
Peek a boo in the kitchen.
Alden loves this circuit kit that he got for Christmas. This time he had made a piano and was playing me a song on it.
If you didn’t know, I can be really funny…. well according to this sweetheart anyways.
Mini Momma Lucy was keeping these two happy so I could making supper.
Bath time with these two. They love it together, although Norah doesn’t last long and Oliver will stay in for quite a while.
These three cleaning up after supper. Or more correctly SUPPOSED to be cleaning up. There was a LOT of fighting and messing around. It took them over 30 minutes.
Lucy working on her pillow on her new sewing machine before bed.
And that was our day. If you want to see a friend who is doing this too…. go see Michelle.
As I was going through my photos for this month I was looking back at the other ones Ive taken in this series. This is the end of my third year doing this. In some ways I want to try something else as a family project but then in the same breath, I can do this. It works for our family and for me. I get it done. And I get some images that really tell the story of our everyday family life. That’s what I want. Most of my other ideas for capturing our family are a lot more involved and I might not stick to them purely because of time commitment of them. So at this point I’m still a bit torn. I have a few weeks to figure it out. For now, here is a Monday at our house. And I added in a few more than 15 this month.
We started out at 5 am this morning. Ugg, too early!!
Scriptures.
Lucy teaching Eli to read. “Eli you know when you pour out yogurt, it comes out smooth? And if you poured out cottage cheese it’s all lumpy? Well your reading should be like yogurt NOT cottage cheese.”
He was hiding because he was mad. And me taking a picture of him being mad made him more mad.
For FHE they put on a Christmas puppet show with puppets they made on Sunday afternoon.
And Alden recording it.
Dance party before bed.
One of our annual traditions is paper snowflakes. (And one of Regan’s favorites)
We always hang them up on our windows.
When we went to go to bed at 1015 or so (since we’d been up since 5) we found Eli passed out on our bed. And when we tried to move him he was so confused as to where he was and what was going on. He wandered into the bathroom and sat down and was throughly confused.

Well it was the 15th on Saturday and so here is a Saturday at our house in 15 pictures.
I just loving doing this. I hadn’t been capturing much of my family in the last two weeks but on this day, I caught these and lots more. This habit of mine helps me stick to it and helps me and my family remember to capture life.

Well it was the 15th yesterday and that means 15 pictures around my house. I was thinking about how I’ve been doing this for 3 years almost. And I love a lot of the images I have collected over those 3 years. They tell the story of our lives. Our everyday ordinary lives that are extraordinary stories because they are ours. I’ve said it again and again. I am passionate about capturing images of my kids. And I think more people should do it too. It’s so EASY now. Use your phone! Use whatever camera you have. And just capture your every day life. Kids or no kids. Doesn’t matter.
This day was different for us. Our flooring is getting replaced and so we have to spend the day not at home, all my kids slept until 7 am (which is completely unheard of at our house), we missed the bus, Alden turned 12, we spent lots of time at grandma & grandpa’s house, we tried out a new food truck in Lethbridge, went grocery shopping. All in all it was a day filled with adventure and experiences. (Now if they would just finish our floor already so we can have some more normal days! ;))
And if you participate, let me know so that I can come and see!

This month the 15th ended up being Father’s Day. Every Father’s Day I try to take a picture of each child individually with Regan. (On mother’s day I try to get each of my kids individually with me too!) So that was 5 pictures right there!
I totally 1000% forgot about this today but months ago I set a reminder/ alarm thing into my iPhone and this morning at 8am it rang and reminded me and I was so glad that I had done that!! As Always go check out my friend Tracy’s day!!

You know I have a good husband. Who really supports me in these crazy ideas I get! He took almost all the 15 pictures this month. Yep. Awesome!
As always, go check out my friend Tracy’s version too and let me know if you did it so I can come and check it out!
It was the 15th just barely… and that means capturing my family.
If you tried it, share with me! As always check out my friend Tracy’s pictures too!
My friend Tracy and I are continuing on this year with our capturing of our families. I really hope you’ll join us. For real. Just try it one month and see what you think.
Well actually it was the 16th…. I forgot about it until half the day was over and then…the day… it involved getting puked on at church and… lots of other annoying things…. it just wasn’t gonna happen. So instead I did the 16th. Here are 15 from the 16th.
This month was a bit if a challenge since it was so dark out! I captured my family anyways.
I really kinda wasn’t in the mood for taking pictures. Alden turned 11 on this day. Regan was on split call. Oliver and Norah were having a rough day. I was overtired and just kinda grumpy all day. But I did it anyways. It’s actually one of the reasons I like doing this. It helps me to see the beauty in my life.
Here are my results.
Go check out my friend Tracy’s pictures too. And if you do it, I’d love to see the results.!
It was the 15th last week. And here are my photos. It ended up being Oliver’s birthday “party” (which really was a fancy sunday dinner with family). As usual go check out my friend Tracy’s pictures too (And join in the link up if you want!)
This month I seriously spaced and forgot until noon…. and then I was a picture taking fool! 🙂 So all these pictures are between noon and 830. Funny thing is, I ended up with 110 pictures. Some were not keepers (obviously) but I got more than my 15 of pictures that I love. And ones that capture our day. Each month I do this I think more and more that I am so glad I am capturing snippets of our life. Things that my kids will be able to look back on and hopefully give a glimpse to them (and anyone else) of how our life was when the kids were this age. I have found it much more difficult to pull out my big camera every day all the time like I was before Norah joined our family. Just for the sheer fact that I am often carrying someone around (between her and Oliver). But each month on the 15th I make it a priority and every single time I download the pictures I am so happy I did it. If you have never tried this, you should. My friend Tracy that does this along with me is starting up a monthly link. I urge you to try it, just one month and see if your results don’t make you happy that you captured your family. Over the almost 2 years I’ve done this, I’ve realized that I want to capture all of it, the messy rooms, the crying kids, the light in my kids hair, jumping on the tramp, quiet moments the kids have together, Regan falling sleep on the couch. Perhaps when the littles are a little less little, I will be able to capture everyday more often, but for now I am pleased as punch that I am capturing one day a month. I urge you to just give it a try and tell me what you think. Go check out Tracy’s pictures and if you took some, link up! And commit to do it next month. Write it down, put a reminder on your iphone, whatever.
This month we were on vacation in Idaho when it was the 15th. (Hence me not posting them until now and the different scenery 🙂 ) Here are my other months if you are interested! And here is my friend Tracy that does it too!
This month Alden, Regan and I all took pictures for the 15 on the 15th. It was kinda of fun seeing some from their view points of the day too. Here are my other months if you are interested! And here is my friend Tracy that does it too!
Well the 15th came and went and I did do my pictures. So here they are. Here are my other months if you are interested! And here is my friend Tracy that does it too!
Well sorry I went missing but last week was crazy and then our internet got cut out so I when I had time I couldn’t post. I did end up reading two books in the nights with no internet. Guess that shows how much time I STILL waste even with Norah around 🙂
Anywho, here’s my 15.
Another 15th passed and I had fun capturing my day 🙂 Tracy did it too… go check out her pages here.
If you want to see my other months check here
Well a few weeks ago it was the 15th. And like last year, I am doing my 15th on the 15th again. I loved the outcome last year. And so I’ve committed myself again. I am going to do a few photography goals this year for myself and my family. And it will all be centered around documenting us and our life. That is what I want the most with my camera. It’s what will matter the most in the years to come. Not that it isn’t fun to take pretty pictures of other people (cause that is fun) but my own family life is what I will be wanting to look back on in the future. Anywho, explanation over pictures up next.
Two things different from last year: 1. I’m not adding the time. (I’ve saving myself the time of adding the time 🙂 ) 2. I’m not doing all black and white this year.
Can’t believe it but I totally spaced on the 15th and all of a sudden it was 530pm. Regan tried to convince me I could still do it that night but nope. And I didn’t want to do another sunday (seems a lot of 15th’s this year are Sundays… so I went with the 17th instead!) Here they are from Monday.
Five things about the day:
1. It was Oliver’s B-Day Party.
2. I am embarrassed you can see the room that all the kids are currently sleeping in cause of the loss of the basement. But that is our life right now and it is always a disaster. 3 kids plus a craft room all in one room equals a disaster!
3. I didn’t really get a whole shot of all the people who were at the party -it was all family.
4. Tomorrow I’ll show you about his cake and the simple party we had for him.
5. Even though I got other pictures of my day I can’t help but share ones where the kids are smiling and really happy 🙂
If you want to see the other months they are here.
I haven’t really felt like blogging lately. So I haven’t been. I make no promises about the near future. We’ll see 🙂 I am instead choosing sleep lately. Yep. And sitting on the floor with my little boys.
But I did do my 15th on the 15th.
If you want to see the other months they are here.
Yesterday was the 15th. I’m doing a project this year taking 15 pictures on the 15th of each month.
You can see the other months here.
That’s how a Sunday (with Regan on call) was around here.
A couple days ago it was the 15th. I’m doing a project this year taking 15 pictures on the 15th of each month.
You can see the other months here.
That’s how my Tuesday looked this week.
So I have all these amazing photographer friends and they inspire me in soooo many ways. One of my good friends Heather (whose blog is private so you can’t see it but trust me AMAZING. Pictures and everything else). She did this thing that on the 10th of each month this year she’s gonna take 10 pictures of her family during the day. And I wanted to do it too. All her pictures were so inspiring and awesome. She’s gonna do b&w too. And since I wanna be like her when I grow up I’m doing it too…. but it was past the 10th. So I am doing the 15th.
So yesterday’s pictures.
I took a LOT of pictures today (in fact Regan announced to the kids that mom was going overboard with the camera.) He sure is a good sport (and so are my kids) to put up with it constantly in their faces 🙂 I have lots of today that I loved but all these are my favorites. And there is a big break in the middle since we were at church and that isn’t the place to take my camera.
