DIY Log Art

I’ve seen a few log slice things on Pinterest like this cute one  and this cute chalkboard  or this one (I’ll be making my own version of this soon too!) and these cute little domes. Cute hey?! Well I’ve wanted to try my hand at something with them and I finally got my hands on some slices thanks to my dad. And this is what I made:

I was looking on the lovely Anthropologie website a few weeks ago and came across these cute little napkins.  Aren’t they sweet?? Well that’s where my inspiration came from.

It was SUPER simple to make! As in two steps.

1. Draw out your heart (you could use a Silhouette to cut one out) or you could just free hand it like I did. Then add on your stickers to use for a resist. (I used American Crafts Thickers)

2. Paint over it. Then let it dry and peel off the stickers really slowly.

I added a hanger on the back of the log to hang it.

I’m planning on redoing one of the walls in my house and this is going on this future wall. But for now it’s just sitting on the book shelf.
