Caramel Popcorn

Course Dessert


  • 1 cup unpopped corn
  • 2 cups brown sugar
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda


  • Pop corn and put in a large mixing bowl.
  • Bring butter, sugar and corn syrup to a boil slightly, only until sugar dissolves.
  • Remove from heat and add vanilla and baking soda.
  • Pour over popped corn.
  • * If you want the caramel to stay soft and sticky, then take it off the heat immediately after the first bubbles. If you want it to be harder then let it boil a little bit longer!
